Are You a Dreamer?

wakinglife“Seems like everyone’s sleep walking through their waking state. Or wake-walking through their dreams” - Richard Linklater

Along with all my new-age, self-help, horoscope obsessions, I’ve discovered yet another way to (over) psycho-analyze yourself.  Yay!

Dream Moods.com is a website that lets you interpret your dreams.  Just search by topic, though it has to be general enough. It cant be a dream about the green sock your grandma gave you 3 years ago!

For example, last night I dreamed I had found a shortcut on my bike while riding from school, to yoga class, and back home. I typed in “bicycle” and I got this:

“To dream that you are riding a bicycle, signifies your desires to attain a balance in your life. You need to balance work and pleasure in order to succeed in your current undertakings”

Viola! Though this may sound general to you, it’s actually very accurate in pertaining to my current daily endeavors.  Sometimes they’re terrifyingly specific and dead-on. You can also search for an interpretation based on feelings, places, common themes, etc.

I strongly believe in the power of the brain. I believe the subconscious mind is stronger than the conscious mind.  I believe that most people are not honest enough with themselves. And thus, a dream is simply a necessary manifestation of a truth escaped. Best make the most out of it.
